I felt I needed to write to say how much I’ve taken to the new look and feel of Therapy Today. I’ve been a student member for four years and am now an associate member and in that time have only given the journal a cursory read, if that at times. But there was something about the new layout that just drew me in – it was like a mix of the New Scientist and The Wire, which to me means ‘cutting edge’ and ‘serious but digestible’. It feels so much easier on the eye. I feel like I can tackle the articles for once; they don’t seem overwhelming in volume, although I appreciate that they are almost certainly of the same length as they were before!
The journal’s compact size seems to have something to do with it being more easily approachable. As for the content, I found the four new regular contributions from the student, counsellor, client and marketing person extremely absorbing, valuable and meaningful to me as a practising therapist in the latter part of my training.
The impact is most worthy of note as I am a new-ish mum with infinitely less time on my hands than I had two years ago and even then I found time to read the first new look issue from cover to cover as soon as it hit my door mat!
