Consultation on a proposed set of indicators to recognise and reward schools for their efforts towards pupils’ wellbeing

  • Schools to be judged on how they boost wellbeing

  • The new children’s minister, Baroness Delyth Morgan, has launched a consultation on a proposed set of indicators to recognise and reward schools for their efforts towards pupils’ wellbeing. The consultation is part of government aims, set out in the Children’s Plan, for schools to play a key role in the wider development of young people, not just their education. The consultation outlines a standardised set of indicators to be used to evaluate the contribution made to the wellbeing of its pupils, including overall attendance rates, whether pupils feel safe at school, and whether the school deals effectively with bullying.
