Relationship credit crisis
New figures reveal the stress of the credit crunch combined with job losses and Christmas has lead to a sharp rise in the number of couples seeking help from counselling. Statistics show calls to Relate have increased by 59 per cent – from nearly 5,000 in October to November 2007 to more than 7,500 during the same period this year. With UK employment set to hit two million by Christmas and record figures of 3.3 million set for next year, the outlook is not good.
